The 4 Daily Questions I Ask Jesus
How 10 minutes a day changed my focus, my leadership, and my walk with God.
I used to wake up already behind.
My calendar would hit me in the face before I even had a chance to think.
Meetings. Emails. Kids. Leadership decisions. Texts I forgot to answer.
And yeah — I’d pray.
But it was quick. Disconnected. Half-present.
I loved God. But I wasn’t listening.
I was performing. Hustling. Pushing through each day like a machine with a Bible verse taped to the side.
Until one morning, I stopped.
I closed my laptop.
I grabbed my journal.
And I wrote down four questions.
I didn’t realize it at the time, but those questions would become the foundation of what I now call 10XF — a framework for living and leading from identity, not exhaustion.
Here they are.
1. “Jesus, what do You want me to know today?”
I don’t start with what I want.
I start with what He wants to reveal.
Sometimes it’s a word of encouragement.
Sometimes it’s correction.
Sometimes it’s just a reminder of who I am in Him.
But here’s the thing:
I used to assume that if I wasn’t hearing something loud and clear, I was doing it wrong.
But Jesus speaks in peace.
In nudges.
In phrases that come to mind when I’m still long enough to hear them.
This question slows me down and puts me in the posture of a disciple — not a performer.
2. “What do You want me to do?”
Clarity follows obedience.
I ask this because I’m not just listening for comfort.
I’m listening for direction.
And honestly, it’s usually not something big. It’s small, simple, and specific.
“Reach out to your friend.”
“Pause before you speak today.”
“Trust Me with this decision.”
Sometimes I want a 10-year strategy.
But Jesus usually gives me today’s assignment.
3. “Holy Spirit, where do You want to heal me today?”
This one is hard.
But it’s necessary.
I’ve learned that when I don’t let the Spirit address my wounds, my wounds end up leading the room.
So I sit. I breathe. I ask.
And often, He’ll bring up something small I didn’t notice:
• A moment where I felt rejection
• A lie I agreed with about my worth
• A situation I’ve been carrying alone
This is where healing begins.
And as a man, husband, dad, and leader — healing is leadership.
4. “I choose to listen and act.”
This is my line in the sand.
It’s not just about spiritual reflection. It’s about spiritual action.
I’ve learned the hard way that it’s possible to have amazing insight and zero impact… if I don’t respond.
So I write it down. I speak it out. I commit.
That’s the difference between another quiet time… and a transformed life.
Why These Four Questions Matter
Because in 10 minutes, I realign.
Not perfectly. Not magically.
But intentionally.
They shift me from striving to surrender.
From reacting to responding.
From autopilot to alignment with God.
That’s what 10XF is built on — daily Identity Reps that re-center you on who you are and who He is.
Your Turn
You don’t need a course. You don’t need a breakthrough moment.
You just need space. And a pen.
Try it tomorrow:
✍️ “Jesus, what do You want me to know?”
✍️ “What do You want me to do?”
✍️ “Holy Spirit, where do You want to heal me today?”
✍️ “I choose to listen and act.”
It’ll feel small. But it’s the beginning of everything.
